What Is National Pelvic Health Collective?

National Pelvic Health Collective is a team of 25+ licensed clinicians united by two areas of specialized expertise: pelvic health and high-quality virtual care.

We are primarily pelvic health physiotherapists, supported by psychotherapists and naturopathic practitioners to address the physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors of your health.

Specialists in Pelvic Health

Our clinicians have advanced training beyond entry-level education, focusing specifically on conditions affecting the pelvis and core.

Experts in Virtual Care

Virtual care is our specialization. Our clinicians receive additional training in delivering care safely online.

Why Virtual-First Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Model

Our clinic was developed in direct response to persistent barriers to accessing pelvic health physiotherapy services, particularly for individuals living in rural, remote, and underserved areas. Pelvic health physiotherapy is a highly specialized area of practice, and access to trained providers remains limited outside major urban centres.

A virtual care model allows us to improve equitable access to regulated physiotherapy services for patients who would otherwise experience delayed or absent care.

Reducing Barriers to Care

Our virtual service model is specifically designed to address common and well-documented barriers to in-person physiotherapy, including:

  • Geographic barriers for clients in rural or remote communities where pelvic health providers are not available
  • Mobility and transportation challenges, including clients with disabilities, chronic pain, caregiving responsibilities, or limited access to reliable transportation
  • Financial barriers related to travel, fuel, parking, childcare, and time away from work
  • Scheduling barriers for individuals balancing employment, caregiving, and medical needs
  • Weather and seasonal travel risks, which are particularly relevant in Canada and the United Kingdom and can interrupt continuity of care

By removing these barriers, our clinic supports timely intervention, continuity of treatment, and preventative care, which are all aligned with best practices in physiotherapy service delivery.

Specialized Competency in Virtual Pelvic Health Care

Our model is not an adaptation of an in-person clinic to an online format. Instead, it is a virtual-first model developed specifically for safe, effective, and evidence-informed remote pelvic health physiotherapy.

All physiotherapists in our organization:

  • Hold active provincial registration and licensure
  • Have completed advanced training in pelvic health physiotherapy
  • Receive additional education and mentorship focused specifically on virtual assessment, clinical reasoning, patient education, health coaching and exercise prescription in a remote setting
  • Follow structured protocols designed to ensure appropriate screening, red flag identification, and referral to in-person or emergency care when indicated

This ensures that virtual care is delivered within scope, safely, and to a consistent standard of quality, rather than as a secondary or occasional service.

Appropriate Use of Virtual Care

We recognize that virtual physiotherapy is not suitable for every clinical presentation. Our clinicians are trained to:

  • Conduct thorough subjective and movement-based assessments
  • Identify situations requiring in-person assessment or medical referral
  • Collaborate with local healthcare providers when hands-on or in-person care is necessary

This approach ensures that virtual care is used responsibly and ethically as part of a broader healthcare system, not in isolation.

Enhancing Self-Management and Long-Term Outcomes

Pelvic health physiotherapy relies heavily on education, behavioural strategies, therapeutic exercise, and lifestyle modification. Our virtual model is particularly well suited to these elements of care and is supported by:

  • Structured educational resources
  • Guided home exercise programming
  • Ongoing coaching and follow-up to promote adherence and self-efficacy

This supports clients in becoming active participants in their care, which aligns with modern physiotherapy principles and improves long-term outcomes.

Supporting Public Interest and Access to Regulated Care

Allowing a virtual-first pelvic health physiotherapy clinic supports the provincial College’s mandate to serve the public interest by:

  • Expanding access to regulated physiotherapy services
  • Reducing disparities between urban and rural healthcare access
  • Promoting early intervention to prevent worsening symptoms and more intensive healthcare utilization later
  • Providing patients with safe, ethical, and accountable care delivered by regulated professionals

Our model is designed not to replace in-person physiotherapy, but to fill a critical access gap and ensure that more of the public can receive timely, appropriate pelvic health care.

Evidence-Based & Regulated

All services are grounded in current scientific evidence and delivered by professionals fully licensed with their regulatory bodies.

What Makes Us Different?

At National Pelvic Health Collective, we don’t just provide pelvic health care — we are leaders in virtual pelvic health delivery.

Our entire model is intentionally built to provide safe, effective, and evidence-based care in a virtual setting. Here’s why clients and referring providers trust our team:

A Specialized, Virtual-First Expert Team

Our team includes over 25 physiotherapists across multiple provinces, each with advanced training in pelvic health physiotherapy — and just as importantly, specialized expertise in delivering care virtually.

Virtual care requires a distinct clinical skill set. Our practitioners complete rigorous training focused specifically on virtual assessment, clinical reasoning, movement analysis, coaching, and exercise prescription in an online environment.

They also receive ongoing mentorship and continuing education that goes far beyond standard physiotherapy training.

These are not generalists adapting in-person skills to video visits — they are clinicians intentionally trained for excellence in virtual pelvic health care.

Evidence-Based Care, Grounded in Current Research

Our approach is firmly rooted in the most up-to-date scientific evidence in pelvic health physiotherapy, pain science, behavioural change, and rehabilitation.

We continuously review emerging research and integrate best practices into our clinical protocols to ensure clients receive modern, effective, and outcome-driven care.

Education Designed Specifically for Virtual Care

We go beyond one-on-one appointments by providing access to specially curated educational resources, including videos, guides, and structured programs that are designed specifically for virtual learning and engagement.

Unlike traditional clinics that repurpose in-person handouts for online use, our educational materials are built from the ground up for a virtual care model.

They are clear, actionable, and evidence-based, helping clients learn at their own pace, build confidence, and make meaningful progress between sessions.

This integrated approach supports long-term results through education, lifestyle strategies, and guided therapeutic exercise.

Ongoing Mentorship and Team Training

Clinical excellence doesn’t stop at onboarding. Our team participates in monthly mentorship sessions, quarterly team-wide training, and ongoing professional development focused on both pelvic health and virtual care best practices.

We foster a strong culture of collaboration, where clinicians share knowledge, discuss cases, and refine their skills using shared tools, resources, and evidence-informed frameworks.

This ensures our clients benefit not just from one practitioner’s expertise, but from the collective knowledge of a highly trained, connected team.

A Consistent Standard of High-Quality Virtual Care

No matter where you live, you receive the same high standard of care.

All our physiotherapists are licensed in their respective regions and trained to deliver care through our structured, quality-assured virtual model.

This creates a consistent, seamless experience for clients across provinces and countries.

In short: Virtual care isn’t an add-on to our services — it’s our specialty.

Every aspect of our clinic, from clinician training to client education, is designed to deliver exceptional pelvic health physiotherapy in a virtual environment.
